Premier League stars Allan Nyom and Joel Matip headline a group of seven Cameroon players who have withdrawn from the 2017 African Cup of Nations, leaving the Indomitable Lions in total disarray.

Liverpool star Matip is believed to have cited a falling out with previous national team management as the main reason for his decision. Fecafoot, the Cameroonian football association, can ask FIFA to suspend the seven from club duty for the duration of the continental showpiece.

The five other players are Andre Onana (Ajax Amsterdam), Guy N’dy Assembe (Nancy), Maxime Poundje (Girondins Bordeaux), Andre-Frank Zambo Anguissa (Olympique Marseille) and Ibrahim Amadou (Lille).

Cameroon is drawn in Group A with host nation Gabon, Guinea-Bissau and Burkina Faso.
