“It is true that when I came to Cameroon one year ago I met a group of players who were old. They were coming to play not because they wanted to play but because they were called by the coach. So I brought in some new players and we started working together. Today, I think I did a good job and the results are there. I told them that it is not a team but a group of friends. Even if I say we have not yet got strong team but I think we can do much better in the future. It is a good beginning and I am very happy with the players. I tell them that it is a not only a football team but a group of 23 players but a group of 23 friends. Those who were on the reserved bench have the same motivation, they are not frustrated be it the match against Senegal, or Ghana or Egypt it is these same players who left the bench to make a difference.”
